Welcome to the Shepherd University Debate and Forensics Team’s homepage!
The Team competes in numerous tournaments each year and has several impressive finishes in all recent tournaments. This includes a National Championship in the Division I Team Speech Sweepstakes at the 2019 Public Communication Speech and Debate League Tournament in Indianapolis. Individual team members compete in events such as Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Parliamentary Debate, Rhetorical Criticism/Communication Analysis, Extemporaneous Speaking, Poetry Interpretation, and Informative Speaking. Team members have earned high honors in many tournaments including most recently a National Championship in National Pentathlon and Audible Interpretation as well as several runner up placements and top 5 rankings at National championships in different events. Statewide the Shepherd University Debate and Forensics Team is a force to be reckoned with and competing for the top honors in the past five years.
Our Team is open to any Shepherd undergraduate student, regardless of major or year in school.
