Quitting~Cessation Resources

Quitting tobacco is easier with support. The Shepherd University Student Health Center offers classes each semester to help tobacco and nicotine vape users find reasons and methods to quit using tobacco and nicotine. Call 304.876.5161 for more information or to sign up for a class.

All fee-paying students have access to sessions with a tobacco cessation coach through the SU Health Center at no additional charge.

Current full-time employees or those who are covered by the WV PEIA health insurance plan, here is a link to tobacco cessation resources offered by PEIA.

If you’ve missed our previously offered classes, these apps are available at any time:

Many insurance carriers cover tobacco cessation approved nicotine replacement therapies and counseling.  Approved products include over the counter nicotine gum, lozenges and patches as well as prescription medications (i.e. Chantix and Zyban).  You will need to check with your insurance carriers for plan details.
