Art faculty featured in museum exhibit through September 13

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — The work of Shepherd University art faculty members will be exhibited at the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, 401 Museum Drive, City Park, Hagerstown, Maryland, through September 13.

The exhibition features work by Rhonda Smith, professor of art and chair, Department of Contemporary Art and Theater; Christian Benefiel, assistant professor of art; Sonya Evanisko, professor of art and coordinator of the painting program; Shannon McCarthy, visiting assistant professor of graphic design; Stephanie Thulin, associate professor of art; Rick Bruner, professor of art; David Modler, assistant professor of art; and adjunct art professors Mike Mendez and Evan Bogges.

The museum’s website says, “Their work reflects a diverse range of media, including painting, prints, photographs, sculpture, installation art, and digital art.”

An event highlighting the work is planned for Sunday, August 30. It will include a gallery talk with the artists at 1:30 p.m., a recital by Joseph Regan, adjunct music professor, at 2:30 p.m., and a reception in the Kaylor Atrium at 3:30 p.m.

Admission to the museum and parking are free. The recital is free for museum members and costs $10 for nonmembers.
