SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s President’s Lecture Series will delve into the world of golf on Monday, November 28, at 6:30 p.m. in the Robert C. Byrd Center for Congressional History and Education auditorium. Ken Tackett will present a talk titled “Conducting and Managing the Competitions of Professional Golf on the PGA TOUR.”

The PGA TOUR is the world’s premier membership organization for touring professional golfers. It includes PGA TOUR, PGA TOUR Champions, Korn Ferry Tour, PGA TOUR Latinoamérica and PGA TOUR Canada.

In 1968, a segment of touring professionals split from the PGA of America, creating the modern-day PGA TOUR, which includes 90 active international members representing 28 countries and territories outside the United States.

Tackett, a senior PGA TOUR tournament director and former executive director of the West Virginia Golf Association, will discuss how the competitions are conducted and managed and share stories of the PGA TOUR.
