SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Frederick Community College (FCC) and Shepherd University have signed an agreement that will create a seamless pathway for FCC students to a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree from Shepherd University. Under the agreement, FCC graduates will be in a collaborative program that will prepare them to earn early admittance to the accelerated M.B.A. program at Shepherd.

The agreement offers students two pathways:

The agreement was signed by Dr. Tony D. Hawkins, FCC provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs, Continuing Education, and Workforce Development, and Dr. Mary J.C. Hendrix, Shepherd president.

“We are very pleased to announce a 2+3 transfer agreement with Frederick Community College,” said Dr. Ben Martz, dean for Shepherd’s College of Business. “This agreement helps cement the ongoing academic relationship between FCC and Shepherd University. This program provides a smooth transition for those students considering a future M.B.A. degree by synchronizing FCC’s associate degree with Shepherd’s business administration degree and accelerates the completion of a M.B.A. All three degrees can be completed in five years.”

“We are grateful for this partnership with Shepherd University and the opportunity this agreement provides our students,” Hawkins said. “We are proud of our strong business programs at FCC and we know this partnership will benefit many students by giving them a clear path and timeline to earn an M.B.A. from a great university nearby.”
