Women for Shepherd to host philanthropy session October 17

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — The Women for Shepherd University and the Shepherd University Foundation will host a Center for Contemporary Arts Tour and inspired philanthropy presentation Thursday, October 17 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the Center for Contemporary Arts II.

Ed Herendeen, Contemporary American Theater Festival founder and producing director, will give behind-the-scenes insight into the CATF before a tour of the newly opened CCA II building.

The event will feature a presentation on inspired philanthropy by Rebecca Powers, founder of Impact Austin in Austin, Texas. The group was created as a collective giving organization to bring women and their financial resources together to make a profound impact in their community. It has raised more than $4 million for those in need in central Texas.

John Wolff, CEO of Capital Fiduciary Advisors, Inc., a wealth management and financial planning company in Reston, Virginia, will sponsor a dessert reception.
