SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University President Dr. Cameron B. Wesson announced the appointment of Hans P. Fogle ’05 as vice president for communications and external affairs in an email to campus on Monday, October 26, 2026.
The appointment expands Fogle’s responsibilities within the University’s cabinet. In addition to his communications and marketing work, Fogle will cultivate relationships with elected officials at the regional, state, and national levels.
“I am honored to step into this new role,” Fogle said. “Shepherd University plays such an important role in Eastern Panhandle and West Virginia. I am excited to help share the impact we have with the broader community.”
“His collaborative spirit, creativity, and focus on how Shepherd represents itself to external audiences are essential qualities for our lead communicator and marketer,” Wesson said. “I have every confidence he will be a strong advocate for Shepherd, our faculty and staff, and our students,” Wesson said.
The appointment reflects Wesson’s focus on organizing University leadership to pursue ambitious goals and serve Shepherd and the communities that support it.
