A Shepherd University journal of literature and the visual arts solicited from Shepherd students every fall. Submitted material is selected for publication by the student editors.
Literary Submissions: Sans Merci looks for literary submissions of nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and drama. There is usually a maximum of 3,500 words per submission. Submissions should include the student’s name, a short bio, e-mail address, and academic year on the cover letter only. Acceptable files are .docx and .pdf. There is no entry fee, and submissions are limited to five entries per person. The deadline for submissions usually falls during the week after fall semester exams. Submit writing to email@example.com.
Art Submissions: Sans Merci highlights a vast range of visual artwork from Shepherd students. Submissions may be from any medium or style, as long as the work can translate into a print format (for example, film stills may be submitted from time-based work, or photo documentation of sculptural work). Images of the work should be formatted as JPEGs @ 300 ppi, longest edge at 10 inches or less. Submit work to firstname.lastname@example.org.
