SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Future Rams who participate in Virtual Accepted Student Day on Saturday, March 6, will get to meet Shepherd University’s mascot, J.C. the ram, during his first-ever Zoom session beginning at 10 a.m. Danielle Stephenson, graduate assistant for student community services, will join J.C. and will help him explain things like why he has his name, how much he weighs, what breed he is, what he eats, and that he tries to come to events on campus as much as possible.

Michelle Lawson, who oversees J.C.’s care, said he is excited the new students are joining his flock and he is looking forward to seeing them in person in the future. In the past during Accepted Student Day, J.C. has come to campus to meet Shepherd’s newest ram family members and take selfies with them.

“JC is such a member of the Shepherd family and our students absolutely love him,” said Kristen Lorenz, director of admissions, who invited J.C. to Zoom with the students. “He has been at our on-campus accepted students events in the past and has been a highlight of the day. We wanted to ensure our newest students have the opportunity to meet him and feel a bit of that Shepherd love that we all share for JC.”

Shepherd has one more Virtual Accepted Student Day scheduled on Saturday, March 27
