SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University Chef Manager Todd Geisbert earned a bronze medal at the 2026 Aramark Culinary Excellence (ACE) National Competition, held at the Culinary Institute of America at Copia in Napa Valley, California.
Geisbert advanced to the national competition after earning gold medals at both the District and Mid-Atlantic Regional ACE competitions. His victories secured him a place among the top culinary professionals in Aramark Collegiate Hospitality.
At the national competition, Geisbert competed against chefs representing Wake Forest University, Clemson University, East Carolina University, Grand Valley State University, the University of New Mexico, the University of Dallas, and Fairfield University.
“Competing on the national stage is an extraordinary accomplishment, and Chef Geisbert’s bronze medal is a testament to his exceptional culinary talent, creativity, dedication, and pursuit of excellence,” said Katy Mong-Waldeck, director of Aramark Collegiate Hospitality at Shepherd University. “Throughout the competition, he represented Shepherd University and the Mid-Atlantic Region with professionalism, passion, and outstanding skill.”
The Aramark Culinary Excellence competition gives chefs an opportunity to demonstrate their culinary expertise in a timed competition judged by industry professionals. Participants are evaluated on organization, cooking technique, presentation, and flavor.
Geisbert’s bronze medal brings national recognition to Shepherd University Dining and highlights the culinary talent and high standards he brings to the University’s dining program.
