Shepherd student leaders attend statewide conference

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd’s newly elected Student Government Association (SGA) Executive Board attended the statewide Student Leadership Conference on May 16-18 sponsored by the Higher Education Policy Commission, taking part in two and a half days of training, workshops, and networking with student leaders from across West Virginia.

SGA Executive Board members for the 2022-2023 school years are Cameron Colwell, president; Chrislynne Bard, vice president; Aaron Mathew, parliamentarian; William Prudnick, treasurer; Natalea Johnson, campus relations; and Kayla Blake, communications director.

In addition to attending, Shepherd played a lead role in the conference planning. Rachael Meads, assistant director of student engagement, Jack Shaw, associate vice president for campus services, Michaela Sencindiver, College Student Development and Administration graduate student, and Holly Morgan Frye, vice president for student affairs served on the conference planning committee.

Graduate students Michaela Sencindiver and Caitlyn Priddy along with outgoing Student Government Association President Elana Gutmann led icebreakers and teambuilders. Meads led a workshop and acted as the host and master of ceremonies for the event. Other featured Shepherd presenters included Dr. Chiquita Howard-Bostic, assistant vice president for diversity, equity, and inclusivity, and Adam Booth, Shepherd’s storyteller-in-residence.
