SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd has received 3 Enrollment Marketing’s Breakthrough Results Award in recognition of the University’s success this year at increasing enrollment numbers and for achieving the University’s best enrollment performance in 11 years, pacing far ahead in applications and deposits year-over-year.

Shepherd received the award recently during the “3E Disruptor Awards Dinner.” At that time, the University was ahead in applications year-over-year by 24 percent and ahead in deposits year-over-year by 22 percent.

Shepherd began working with 3 Enrollment Marketing (3E), a comprehensive and modern higher education enrollment solutions company, last year in an effort to market Shepherd more effectively to a broader range of students. The company hosts an annual reception to celebrate the efforts and successes of its partner institutions and recognize the outstanding achievements of individual teams. They present awards in categories aligned with the company’s core values.

“We have been recognized for our openness and commitment to seeing and doing things differently than what has been the status quo across higher education enrollment, really innovating how we engage prospective Shepherd students—on their terms, in a modern and high-impact way—and it’s made the difference in our results,” said Dr. Kelly Hart, vice president for enrollment management.

“This is a challenging time in higher education and enrollment management. We are honored to receive this award and are grateful to President Hendrix, the Board of Governors, and the University’s Executive Leadership Team for their support of our partnership with 3E,” Hart said. “I sincerely appreciate the hard work of admissions, marketing, University communications, and the entire campus community to recruit students to Shepherd University,” Hart said. “We are all working together as a team to accomplish our enrollment goals.”

Hart said the Office of Admissions continues to admit students to the University and orientation for fall semester begins next week.

“Thanks to everyone for your role in our continued success,” she said.
