School of Music to host December 8 Holiday Gala Concert

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — The Shepherd University School of Music’s Annual Holiday Gala Concert “Naughty and Nice!” will take place Saturday, December 7, at 7:30 p.m., with a family matinée performance on Sunday, December 8, at 3 p.m. in the Frank Center Theater. The Sunday matinée will include an appearance by Santa and an instrument Petting Zoo for all ages.

This holiday musical tradition will feature the Shepherd Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, Chamber Singers, Camerata Soprano/Alto Choir, Aries Tenor/Bass Choir, and Kodály-Orff Ensemble, and Vocal Quintet. This special program includes holiday music with traditional favorites and contemporary arrangements, and a very merry holiday sing-along.

The concert will include a selection of Polish Christmas music arranged by Johan de Meij, as well as a variety of holiday classics such as “O Tannenbaum,” “Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town,” “White Christmas,” and “Sleigh Ride,” as well as a few humorous selections such as “Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer” and “The Chipmunk Song.”
