SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — The College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences welcomed Dr. David Fearn, dean for North America, University of the West of Scotland (UWS), for a visit on Friday, February 25. Fearn toured Shepherd and met with students and faculty to discuss academic exchange opportunities between the two universities.

Students from about 20 majors can study at USW earning undergraduate college credit. The UWS partnership also supports a graduate degree opportunity with Shepherd’s Master of Arts in Appalachian studies and UWS’s degree in new media practice. Students who choose to study in Scotland earn both master’s degrees simultaneously.
