SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — More than 30 physical education majors are now qualified to teach archery when they become school teachers. On September 17, the students participated in Basic Archery Instruction taught by two officers from the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources.
“The program is a National Archery in the Schools Program and is very popular across the U.S.,” said Dr. Julia Tracy, assistant professor of physical education. “This is relatively new to Shepherd, and I plan to continue the trainings annually. The hope is that we will start to see more programs in our local schools.”
