SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Registration is open for the 10th annual Seeding Your Future Conference (SYFC) at Shepherd University on Saturday, October 28, from 8:45 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
SYFC is a free one-day, hands-on event that aims to inspire primarily middle school-aged girls and non-binary students in grades 5-8 to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, art, or mathematics (STEAM) when they become older. SYFC is open to students who attend public, private, and homeschool.
Through hands-on activities and positive interactions with experts in STEAM fields and undergraduate volunteers from Shepherd, participants learn about potential career paths and build confidence in their academic abilities and interests. This year, SYFC will focus on chemistry, biology, physics, engineering, medical and health sciences, environmental science, math, art, music, and more.
SYFC is supported by the NASA West Virginia Space Grant Consortium. For more information and to register, visit the Seeding Your Future webpage.
