Community Music program to present December 8 concert

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s Community Music program will present a fall ensembles recital, on Wednesday, December 8, at 7:30 p.m. in the Frank Arts Center Theater featuring the Community String Orchestra under the direction of Camilo Perez-Mejia and the Youth Chorus under the direction of Dr. Austin Showen.

Some of the works to be performed include the “Arcangelo Corelli: Concerto grosso in G minor, Op. 6, No. 8” (“Christmas Concerto”) and Tchaikovsky’s “Elegy in G Major for String Orchestra, TH 51.” The Youth Chorus will perform “Bring Me Little Water, Silvy,” by Huddie Ledbetter and arranged by Moira Smiley, and “Find My Way Home,” an original composition by the Shepherd Youth Chorus.

General admission for the concert is $5, and free for Shepherd students with a valid Rambler ID. Tickets can be purchased in advance at the online ticket office. There is a $1 surcharge for tickets purchased in advance online and for all credit card sales.
