SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Collin Alexander of Hedgesville, West Virginia, has joined Shepherd’s Finance Department as director of finance/controller beginning January 2.
“We are excited that Collin has joined Shepherd’s Finance Team,” said Dr. Scott Barton, vice president for finance and administration. “He brings more than 25 years of knowledge in finance, operational, and management experience. I am confident he will be a great addition to our team as we continue to innovate and improve Shepherd’s processes in the Finance Department.”
Alexander comes to Shepherd after working closer to Washington, D.C. for more than 20 years, specifically the last 11 years at the HealthWell Foundation, a national nonprofit and 23rd on the Forbes list of America’s Top 100 Charities.
“I am excited for the opportunity to join Shepherd University and be a part of the state where I have established roots,” Alexander said. “Seeing the incredible work that has been done and is being done has me truly looking forward to diving in and working with the team to continue the long history of supporting the University and community at Shepherd.”
Barton said Alexander’s experience as a finance leader and executive business partner in spearheading initiatives will help Shepherd work toward being more effective and efficient while supporting the academic endeavors of students, faculty, and staff.
