SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s School of Education and Berkeley County Schools hosted a co-teacher training workshop on August 5. There were about 50 participants, including 24 teachers, two supervisors, 12 students, and five principals or assistant principals training in the co-teaching model for learning, where teacher candidates and mentor teachers work alongside one another and share responsibility for student learning.

When the 2019-2020 school year starts, this model will be implemented in five Berkeley County Professional Development Schools: Spring Mills Primary, Potomack Intermediate, Tomahawk Intermediate, Hedgesville Elementary, and Mill Creek Intermediate.
