Wendi Griffiths
An accomplished vocalist, accompanist, educator, and arts administrator, Wendi Griffiths actively seeks opportunities to mentor and advocate for students. She has taught and coached at multiple institutions, including the University of North Carolina Pembroke and the University of Utah. Additionally, she is an experienced accompanist and has collaborated at various performances and masterclasses across the country. Her students have received superior ratings at state solo and ensemble festivals, won top awards at NATS competitions, and have successfully continued their studies in programs throughout the world.
Ms. Griffiths has been teaching piano and voice lessons for over 20 years and is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), where she served on the Northern Utah Chapter board as Student Liaison and worked with the Chapter Auditions Committee. In 2018 she served as Volunteer Coordinator for the Cal-Western Regional NATS Auditions. She also founded and served as President of the Student NATS chapter at the University of Utah.
Wendi Griffiths has had an extensive performing career, both in choirs and as a solo singer. Opera credits include the title role in the opera Amahl and the Night Visitors, Fan in the World Premier of Leavitt and Buck’s A Christmas Carol, and Belle in the same opera the following year. Some of her favorite musical theatre performances include The Secret Garden, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and Big River. She has also served behind the scenes in many production roles, including music director.
As an arts administrator, Ms. Griffiths has a background in arts and higher education marketing, having run social media and marketing for the College of Music at Florida State University and working in marketing in the arts consulting space. She also served as the Assistant Membership Director on the board for Tallahassee Community Chorus.
Ms. Griffiths holds a Master of Arts degree in Arts Administration, with an emphasis in Music from Florida State University, a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance from the University of Utah, and a Bachelor of Science degree in History and Political Science from Weber State University. A firm believer that education is a continuum, she is constantly looking for workshops and professional development to help her become a better teacher and resource for her students.
