Non-Degree Seeking Students
Non-degree seeking students are those planning to enroll at Shepherd University for credits to transfer to their home institution, or individuals seeking to enroll in courses for personal enrichment. Our admission requirements and application process are outlined below.

Admission Requirements
Although there are no formal admission requirements, select courses may have prerequisites for enrollment. If applicable, official college transcripts must be provided to verify enrollment eligibility.
Application Process
There are two methods for non-degree seeking students to apply:
- Complete and submit our online application.
- Download and complete the non-degree student registration form.
For individuals opting to complete the registration form:
- Select your student type (transient, special, post-baccalaureate, or West Virginia senior citizen).
- Refer to the class schedule for the “Course Registration” section.
- Ensure all questions/fields are complete and sign the form.
- Submit the completed form to the Office of Admissions, allowing ample time for processing.

All non-degree seeking student applications are to be submitted by the first week of classes each semester. View the University calendar for the official dates.
