Shepherd University is proud to partner with Blue Ridge Community and Technical College (BRCTC) to offer 2+2 agreements, allowing students to seamlessly transfer credits to their desired degree program at Shepherd. Collaborative Teacher Education Program
In partnership with BRCTC, Shepherd University offers a seamless pathway to teacher education, designed for students beginning their academic journey at BRCTC. Through this program, students follow a course sequence, supporting the completion of an Associate of Science in Education degree at BRCTC. Following completion of the associate’s degree, eligible students gain direct admission to Shepherd’s teacher education program.
Eligibility Requirements
- Apply to Shepherd two semesters prior to transferring from BRCTC, using the program-specific application.
- Complete all required courses with a grade of “C” of higher.
- Earn a minimum cumulative grade point average (GPA) of 2.75.
- Earn a passing score on all portions of Praxis™ Core Academic Skills for Educators exam.
- Complete all required field experiences and academic portfolio requirements.
