SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Relay For Life for Jefferson County, presented by Shepherd University, hosted a pickleball tournament on Thursday, March 5 at the University’s Wellness Center in support of the American Cancer Society. The tournament welcomed 15 teams made up of community members and Shepherd students.
Fabian Telschow and Pang Honghui won the tournament.
As Relay for Life continues its spring fundraising efforts, campus and community members are invited to attend an upcoming line dancing fundraiser on March 30 from 6-8 p.m. at Potomac Brewing Company in Sharpsburg, Maryland.
The annual Survivors Lunch will be held on April 4 and is free for cancer survivors and one guest. Those wishing to attend should RSVP by emailing jheath@shepherd.edu with the names of each attendee.
The community is also invited to attend the main Relay For Life event on April 18 from noon to midnight at the Shepherd University Wellness Center. Participants are encouraged tobring friends, family, and neighbors to spend the day celebrating and honoring cancer survivors.
The event will feature carnival-style games and fundraisers, food trucks, competitions, and a special ceremony to honor those currently battling cancer and remember loved ones lost to the disease.
