SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University business students achieved success in the Fall 2025 CapSource Live Case Competition, a global strategic management competition featuring universities from around the world, including institutions accredited by the International Accreditation Council for Business Education.
Five teams from the University’s Business Strategy and Policy (BADM 407) course, taught by Dr. Joshua Beck, participated in this semester’s competition. Over a five-week period, students developed strategic recommendations for Tallo, a real-world career development platform. Following the submission of their written proposals, only the top 12 teams worldwide advanced to the live final round, where they presented their strategies to a panel of industry executives and academic judges.
In an exceptional showing, four Shepherd teams earned spots in the Top 12, and one team brought home first place overall.
The winning team members are Cayden Sorenson, Patrick Samuda, Abby Van Meter, and Dylan Walker.
Their achievement highlights the strength of Shepherd University’s business curriculum and the students’ ability to apply strategic management principles to real-world challenges.
