SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s Community Music program is offering an Adult Piano Fun class beginning Wednesday, January 10, 2024, in the Frank Arts Center. The class, with instructor Susan Petzold-Carpenter, is just for fun and offers a social, supportive atmosphere with no grades, deadlines, or recitals.
Three levels will be offered. Level I from 5–6 p.m. is for those with no previous note-reading or keyboard experience, Level II from 7:30–8:30 p.m. for those who have some previous experience or have completed Level I, and Level III from 6:15–7:15 p.m. for those who have completed Level II or have more advanced experience.
Tuition for the eight-week session is $130 plus a $25 registration fee. The textbook set is $35.75 for the digital or hard copy, with MP3 online audio accompaniment included, and may be purchased online.
For those who have completed the Level III piano class or are returning to the piano, a grad school spring session will be offered on Tuesdays at 5 p.m. January 9–February 27, 2024. Tuition is $130 plus a $25 registration fee, and the textbook is available for $27.99 with an accompanying CD.
