Pre-Law Society and political science department hosting February 17 event on regional drug problem

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s Pre-Law Society and Department of Political Science are sponsoring a panel discussion about the region’s hard drug epidemic that will include a federal judge, a member of the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals, and a circuit court judge. The event, titled “A Legal Perspective on the Hard Drug Epidemic in the Region,” will take place on Wednesday, February 17, from 3:30-5:30 p.m. in the Erma Ora Byrd Hall auditorium.

The panelists include Emmet G. Sullivan, U.S. District Court judge for the District of Columbia; Brent D. Benjamin, a justice with the Supreme Court of Appeals of West Virginia; and Viki M. Pauler, associate judge, Washington County Maryland Circuit Court, 4th Judicial Circuit.
