SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University will host a Law School Admissions Test (LSAT) preparatory workshop Saturday, April 5 and Sunday, April 6 from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. in White Hall.

Shepherd’s Graduate Continuing Education Division and the Department of Political Science are sponsoring the workshop designed to help students improve their LSAT score performance as they apply for law school admission.

The fee is $279 and includes the cost of attending the two-day session and the acquisition of one continuingeducation credit. Students are instructed to purchase two testing booklets recommended by the instructor.

Registration is available online at www.shepherd.edu/graduate-studies/images/non-degree.pdf.

Larkin Robson, J.D., will teach the course. Robson has taught at West Virginia University’s law school and has taught LSAT prep strategies for years. This course will provide greater student-instructor interaction that will likely improve LSAT performance.

Topics and issues to be covered are logical reasoning, analytical reasoning, reading comprehension, essay composition, and general test-taking tips.

The workshop is open to the public. Past or present Shepherd students are encouraged to attend, as is anyone interested in improving their LSAT performance.

LSAT performance is a significant factor in determining if a student gets into a law program and if they can earn financial support to offset the costs of law school. Nationally administered LSAT prep courses can cost more than $1,000 and are sometimes at a great distance from the student. Shepherd’s prep course is at a convenient location for a fraction of the price of big name programs.

CE courses may not be used as part of either an undergraduate or graduate degree program at Shepherd or other West Virginia schools.
