Center for Teaching and Learning
The mission of the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) is to support teaching excellence and to promote learning experiences both in and outside the classroom.
In an ongoing effort to support instructors and learners, the CTL heads up many vibrant pedagogical endeavors on and off Shepherd University's campus. Among our main projects is the Focus on Student Learning series (FOSL). Each semester, the series features presentations by engaging leaders in the world of academic excellence, and mini-workshops guided by professors who have introduced innovative classroom strategies using technology, diversity, and other valuable elements. Pre-Professional Studies
Pre-professional studies include several with substantial concentration in the basic sciences and mathematics and constitute recommended course selections from the Shepherd University academic offerings which may prepare students for application to professional schools of dentistry, medicine, veterinary medicine, and others. As such, these course work recommendations should be viewed as requirements of institutions other than Shepherd University unless, as is commonly the case, a student pursues a specific Shepherd University degree program as well.
