SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Speak Story Series, part of Shepherd University’s Appalachian Studies Program, presents Corinne Stavish with “When Good People Do Something,” the story of integrity and humanity in occupied Denmark during WWII, on Tuesday, August 14, at 7:30 p.m. in Reynolds Hall. Admission is $12 at the door, with express entry for season ticket holders, and free to Shepherd students with a valid Rambler ID. Speak is for adult audiences. Mature youth are allowed at their guardian’s discretion.
A 2001 Detroit Jewish Woman Artist of the Year in Literature and humanities professor at Lawrence Technological University, Stavish specializes in personal and biblical interpretive tales that are warm and witty, powerful and poignant, and enhanced by a varied performing style. She has been featured at the National Storytelling Festival as a teller and frequent emcee, has been a keynote speaker at the National Storytelling Conference, has four award-winning CDs, has contributed to “Chicken Soup for the Jewish Soul” and “The Storyteller’s Companion to the Bible,” and has guest-edited Storytelling Magazine.
