SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University and Lord Fairfax Community College (LFCC) have signed an agreement that will enable students to transfer seamlessly from LFCC’s Associate of Arts and Sciences degree in general studies with a specialization in recreation and outdoor leadership to Shepherd’s Bachelor of Science in public recreation and sports studies, with a concentration in either public recreation and parks administration or therapeutic recreation.

Under the recreation 2+2 agreement, students would take recreation and outdoor leadership classes, such as outdoor recreation, risk management, leadership and supervision, outdoor adventure, and program planning at LFCC, as well as some general education courses. They could then transfer to Shepherd and take higher-level recreation classes, more general education classes, and electives.

This is the second agreement Shepherd and LFCC have signed. The first gives students earning an Associate of Science in chemistry the ability to transfer into Shepherd’s Bachelor of Science in chemistry.
