Rude Mechanicals to perform ‘Andromache’ July 14-16

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Shepherd University’s Rude Mechanicals Medieval and Renaissance Players will present Euripides’ ancient Greek play “Andromache” from Friday, July 14 to Sunday, July 16.

The play will take place in Reynolds Hall on Friday, July 14, 8 p.m.; Saturday, July 15, 8 p.m.; and Sunday, July 16, 3 p.m. Ticket prices are $5, general admission; $2, Shepherd faculty and staff; and free, Shepherd students with a valid Rambler ID.

Set in the aftermath of the Trojan War, the play depicts the plight of Andromache, the widow of the great Trojan prince and warrior Hector, who was killed by Achilles. She is now a slave in the household of Achilles’ son and threatened with death.

Cast and crew members include Shepherd students Mariella Avendano, Lyvon Campbell, Gabrielle Hess, TK Lindsay, and Shepherd alumni Allexandra Benedict, Jeannie Moore, and Shelby Taylor.
