April 8 inauguration energy symposium moved to larger venue

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — An energy symposium that will take place Friday, April 8, at 1 p.m. during the inauguration of Shepherd University’s 16th president, Dr. Mary J.C. Hendrix, has been moved to the Frank Center Theater to accommodate a larger audience. The symposium is free and open to the public and will be streamed live at www.shepherd.edu/inauguration for those who cannot attend in person.

Hendrix will moderate a discussion that will feature Michael Polsky, founder, president, and CEO of Invenergy LLC; Dr. Xingbo Liu, professor and associate chair of research at the West Virginia University Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources; and Dr. Jeffrey Groff, associate professor of physics in the Institute of Environmental and Physical Sciences at Shepherd.

The symposium is just one of several events planned Friday and Saturday to celebrate Hendrix’s presidency. Nine other events that are free and open to the public include:
