The final forum, What’s Next for WV? will recap the discussions during each of the preceding forums and will evaluate what the next steps are that to achieve the overarching goal established during the Summit.
Dr. Gordon DeMeritt, Facilitator
Dr. DeMeritt is a tenured professor in the Shepherd University Business School, specifically in the Department of Business Administration and in the Master of Business Administration programs. He received degrees from Valparaiso, Averett and Capella Universities.
He has a Ph.D. in Organizational Management, Honors Graduate MBA, and ASQ Certified Manager of Quality and Organizational Excellence; Administrative experience in a variety of academic environments, on-line and classroom teaching experience at undergraduate and MBA level supported by 25 years of experience in corporate management, organizational change, problem-solving, and customer service in manufacturing, medical diagnostics, public health, and research support.
During his 13 years at Shepherd, he has led numerous student trips to a variety of international locations to study business practices in such nations as Brazil, England, China, Russia, Italy and India among others. He served as the Chairman of the Business Administration Department for a decade.
DeMeritt has served as Chairman of the Board, American Society for Quality, Northern Shenandoah Region; Strategic Planning Consultant Blue Ridge Community College and Virginia Western Community College.
He is President, Board of Directors, The Life Center of Page Valley; a Special Advisor on Strategic Development, Mt. Carmel Baptist Church, Leadership Team and a member of the Board of Directors of the George Washington Institute of Living Ethics.
