First-year students may choose any of the five Orientation Step 1 sessions. All sessions are identical. While we try to accommodate your first choice of sessions, there is limited amount of space available per session therefore, reservations for each of the sessions are taken in the order in which they are received. The decision of which session to choose should be based on family vacation and work schedules. Parents and family members are invited and encouraged to attend Step 1.
Session A: June 4- 5, 2018 | DAY ONE Student Schedule | DAY TWO Student Schedule |
Session B: June 11-12, 2018 | DAY ONE Student Schedule | DAY TWO Student Schedule |

Is it required to attend Advisement & Registration (A&R)?
Yes, these are mandatory sessions that each new student must attend to be able to register for his/her classes. During this required session you will meet with a faculty advisor, register for classes, receive your Rambler Card, meet upper class students, learn about programs and services offered by Shepherd, and acclimate yourself to the campus.
Overnight on-campus accommodations for all first-year students are available in our new residence hall, Potomac Place. You will need to pack sheets, pillows, blankets, washcloths, and towels. We believe that doing so enables you to better participate in all scheduled sessions and provides you with the opportunity to meet other students. Due to the number of participants, you will be housed in a double room with another new student of the same gender. For more information about Housing and Dining Services, visit their web site at http://www.shepherd.edu/residencelife/.
