Sociology and Criminology Club
The Sociology and Criminology Club at Shepherd University encourages community consciousness. Our mission is to encourage the pursuit of excellence in sociology within the Shepherd Community. As an organization, we strive to develop and refine the sociological skills of club members. The club provides to students the opportunity to pursue sociological interests. Our meetings serve as a forum for examining and discussing current sociological techniques and studies. The club has increased and promoted faculty-student interaction through relevant workshops, conferences, and community action.
The purpose of the club is to provide an atmosphere that is conducive to learning about human diversity. We are an action-oriented organization dedicated to the ideals of service and scholarship. The club has increased student involvement on Shepherd’s campus and in surrounding communities through service projects. We continually strive to serve local and international communities and to better understand the social forces shaping them.
