As a victim of sexual violence it is important to know that you are not alone. There are resources both on and off campus to help you through this difficult time. It is your choice to use the resources that feel the most helpful to you and to address the needs you want to address.


Shenandoah Women’s Center: 304-263-8522

A confidential domestic violence and sexual assault crisis center serving both men and women. Services include emotional support, counseling, emergency shelter and a 24 hour hot line.

The National Sexual Assault Hotline at 1-800-656-HOPE

RAINN (Rape, Abuse and Incest National network) Online Hotline

The Online Hotline provides live, secure, anonymous crisis support for victims of sexual violence, their friends, and families over RAINN’s website. The Online Hotline is free of charge and is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week!

On Campus Confidential Support:

If you need support but are unsure if you want to make a formal report (i.e.; filing a police report or pursuing charges through the Office of Student Conduct) there are confidential resources available to you.

On Campus Private Support:

These resources cannot guarantee complete confidentiality but maintaining your privacy will remain a top priority while providing you the support you need and request. They may be required to report the occurrence of the assault, the name of the alleged perpetrator if provided by you and possibly your name under state and federal regulations. All steps will be taken to minimize the disclosure of this information.
