Mission
The Shepherd University Master of Arts in College Student Development and Administration prepares individuals who demonstrate interest in and commitment to college students and their development and learning as professional administrators in student affairs and enrollment management within post-secondary and tertiary education. Graduates of the program will demonstrate depth and breadth of knowledge of the profession through integrated coursework and supervised practice.
Philosophical Pedagogy
Shepherd University values learning modalities. Faculty embrace multiple approaches to engage a variety of styles associated with these modalities. A cornerstone of this program is to instill the value of student involvement in their own learning through interactions with faculty, staff, students, and peers. This engagement instills the value of being a life-long learner and educator who uses critical thinking and reflection within the classroom and various work environments.
Student Learning Outcomes
- CSDA students will demonstrate foundational competence related to social justice and diversity which includes and understanding of inclusion, oppression, power, and privilege and their impact in higher education.
- CSDA students will apply theoretical knowledge of student development and an understanding of various student populations to higher education settings.
