Information for Admitted Students
Student Handbook
First and foremost, all students must comply with policies and procedures detailed in the Shepherd University Student Handbook. Any additional policies and procedures specific to the Nutrition program are available in the Shepherd University Nutrition Program Handbook.
Graduation and DPD Verification Requirements
Students must pass all courses required for the Nutrition program with a minimally maintained institutional GPA of 2.0. All course and graduation requirements are listed within the Nutrition Program’s Catalog Description. Refer to the Catalog for additional details.
Verification of completion of the Nutrition Program, as an ACEND-accredited didactic program in dietetics, will be provided to all students who successfully complete program requirements and components.
Tentative Scheduled Holiday and Other Breaks
The Nutrition Program follows the Shepherd University’s Academic Calendar, which each year beginning with traditional Fall/ Spring Semesters and concluding with a Summer Session.

- Labor Day Observation
- Fall Break
- Thanksgiving Break
- Winter Recess
Spring Semester
- Martin Luther King Jr Birthday Observation
- Spring Break
Summer Term
- Full Summer Session classes begin Tuesday prior to Memorial Day and conclude the 1stWednesday of August
- Summer Session A is five weeks long beginning on Tuesday prior to Memorial Day
- Summer Session B is five weeks long beginning on Tuesday following July 4th
