Open House Dates for Fall 2019

Shepherd University offers Open House visitation events on Saturdays throughout the school year. An Open House is a great opportunity for you to tour our beautiful campus, discuss majors with faculty, and learn more about campus life. Our dedicated faulty and staff will answer all your questions about Shepherd, covering topics like financial aid, study abroad, residence life, and more. Open House spaces fill up quickly, so register early for your preferred date.  To make an appointment, contact the Office of Admissions at 304-876-5212 or 800-344-5231 ext. 5212. You may also email your visit request to admissions@shepherd.edu.

Fall Semester 2019 Calendar

August 22 Add/Drop and late registration (late fee applies) via RAIL begins at 4:00 pm.
August 26 Classes begin for Fall 2019. Uniforms and nurse packs must be obtained.
August 27 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Nursing Assembly EOB Auditorium Room 109.  Attendance is mandatory.
September 2 Labor Day. University is closed.
September 6 Last day for instructor-approved late add via RAIL
September 9  Last day to change a course from credit to pass/fail status.
September 16 Last day to change a course from credit to audit status.
September White Coat Ceremony.
October 7 First day of midterm exams.
October 11 Last day of midterm exams.
October 14 Midterm grades due; second-half semester begins.
October 15             Midterm grades available on RAIL (tentative). 
October 17 Fall Break.
October 18 Fall Break.
October 23 Academic Advising begins for continuing students Spring 2020.
October 25 Last day to withdraw from a full semester class. See advisor by noon.  
November 6 Last  day of Academic Advisement for continuing students Spring 2020.
November 15 Last day to withdraw from second-half semester class. See advisor by noon.
November 24 First Day of Thanksgiving break.
November 28 Thanksgiving Day. University closed.
November 29 Thanksgiving break. University closed.
December 6 Last day of classes. Last day for complete withdrawal from semester.
December 9 First day of final exams.
December 13 Nursing Convocation. Last day of final exams.
 December 17 Grades will be available via RAIL (tentative).
 
   
   

Academic Advisement

Advisors will have advisement schedules posted on their office doors for pre-nursing and nursing students. You must meet with your advisor in order to receive your pin to register for next semester classes.

October 23 First day of academic advisement for continuing students for Spring  2020.
November 6 Last day of academic advisement for continuing students for Spring  2020.
