School of Music to host October 14 jazz concert

SHEPHERDSTOWN, WV — Don’t miss an exciting night of jazz on the stage of Shepherd University’s Frank Arts Center Theater with the Shepherd Jazz Ensemble under the direction of Dr. Kurtis Adams on Thursday, October 14, at 7:30 p.m. The program will feature works by Robert Curnow, Sy Oliver, George Gershwin, Carl Fischer, Phil Wilson, Gordon Goodwin, and Neal Hefti.

The Shepherd Jazz Ensemble has performed at festivals throughout the East Coast and Europe. In the U.S., the band has been featured at the Longwood, Blue Ridge, and East Coast Jazz Festivals, as well as at regional festivals throughout West Virginia, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey.

Tickets are $15 for general admission; $10 for Shepherd faculty, staff, alumni, senior citizens, active duty military, and students age 18 and under; and free for Shepherd students with a valid Rambler ID. Tickets can be purchased in advance online.
