EDPD Course Credit Option for Certification Renewal

The purpose of the Literacy Leaders Conference is to present teachers and teacher candidates with effective methods for improving literacy teaching for P-12 students and promote high quality literacy instruction in their schools.  To support educators who attend the conference in this goal, Shepherd University offers a low-cost opportunity to earn 3 graduate credits for recertification for those who attend the conference and complete follow up research and application projects.  Please see syllabus to review course expectations here. 2025 Syllabus – Literacy Leaders Conference.

After registering for the conference, if you would like to pursue this option, you will need to register with Shepherd University for EDPD 625-01. Tuition is $219 for 3 credits.  However, a grant to the Shepherd Writing Project has provided some funds to defray this cost.  You may apply for a conference scholarship after registering for the class.  See details below.  If you apply for the scholarship, do not pay the Shepherd fee until you hear back from the Writing Project about whether you have been selected.
