The Shepherd University IRB operates during the academic year in order to consider those applications requiring review. The IRB does not meet during the summer. Therefore, reviews for applications submitted after April 22 (for exempt or expedited reviews) for the May meeting submission deadline (for full reviews) may be delayed until the beginning of the Fall semester.
During the academic year, the IRB accepts applications requiring exempt or expedited reviews on an ongoing basis.
Additionally, the IRB meets monthly – between the months of September and May – in order to consider those applications requiring a full review. In order to have an application considered by the IRB for full review, a completed application must be submitted to the IRB Chair no later than ten days before the scheduled meeting (as indicated below) —
