Please note that each situation is unique for every student, so you may need to contact Residence Life Office if you have any specific questions or needs.
How To Select a Room Using Good Living
At the top of Shepherd’s website, click on “Good Living” in the Quick Links section. (see picture below)
You will arrive at Residence Life’s page. Click on the yellow “Good Living Portal” button. (see picture below)
Use your Shepherd University login credentials. Please note: You would use everything before “@rams.shepherd.edu” for you username. (See picture below.)
Stage 4 A:
On your Good Living homepage, it should indicate if you are eligible for a room selection time.
Example 1: Not eligible for a room selection period.
Example 2: Eligible for a room selection period. Please note: If it is not during the designated time, then you can view rooms available but you would not be able to select the room. This is known as “Window Shopping” room selection period.
Stage 4 B:
If you are eligible for room selection, please click “Select a Room/Suite.” You will land on the page (pictured below) that can allow you to filter your request and begin searching for the best available room.
Click “Find Available Rooms” and a list of available rooms will populate.
Example 1: During “window shopping” period, you are able to view the available rooms, but you are not able to select one. (see image below)
Example 2: During “room selection” period, depending on your group type, you will see an image similar to the one below.
- Tip #1: “Select Suite” button will be visible if you have a group of 3 or more and attempting to fill an entire suite that has 4 or more beds.
- Tip #2: “Select Room” button appears when 1 or 2 students looking for a room. Groups of 3 or more will not see the select a room button because the group needs to fill more than 2 bed spaces.
- Tip #3: Please check out the “Good Living – Roommate Request” tab for more information on how to select a roommate.
After finding the best room for you or your group, make the selection. You will then be asked to agree to the terms and the room you have selected.
You will view a message saying your booking is complete and an email will be sent to your student email to confirm the placement. If you have any questions, please contact Residence Life.
Congrats! You have now selected your room!
