Dane Palmer received his M.M. in Marimba performance from Boston Conservatory and his B.M. in Percussion from Baldwin Wallace University. His musical interests and experience span the gamut of percussion including concert percussion in orchestra and wind ensembles, chamber ensembles (including a performance of Steve Reich’s “Music for 18 Musicians” at The Boston Conservatory), percussion ensemble (including Paul Lansky’s “Threads” with Boston Percussion Group), drum set in numerous musical theater pit orchestras as well as rock bands, African drums and gyil, drum corps, studio recording, performances including live electronics and playback, and a specialty in marimba. He was a guest speaker at Zeltsman Marimba Festival 2014 on “Marimba in Popular Music” and has served for three summers as ZMF’s Production Manager. Mr. Palmer will be currently teaching courses in percussion repertoire and directing the percussion ensemble at Shepherd University.
