This
exciting event will highlight new solar technologies and techniques
applicable to homes and businesses in the mid-Atlantic region.
Technical presentations and discussions will cover photovoltaics (PV)
for grid-tie and off-grid, passive solar home designs, solar water
heating for homes, pools, and hot tubs, solar community development, the
current scope of the West Virginia Division of Energy, net- metering in
West Virginia, and the compatibility of solar energy applications with
historic preservation tactics. The program will also include a tour of
the Shepherd University Renewable Energy Demonstration Site and a
discussion of new undergraduate curriculum including solar energy.
The
afternoon will feature an alternative energy vehicle expo showcasing the
General Motors hydrogen fuel cell car and the latest in hybrid
electric vehicle technology.
