Women’s Camerata is an ensemble of around 25 female singers at Shepherd University, under the direction of Dr. Rachel Carlson.
Members consist of voice majors, music majors, and students from other disciplines at Shepherd University.
We are always looking for new members! Auditions take place at the beginning of every semester, during the first week of classes. Email Dr. Carlson if you are interested in auditioning.
Women’s Camerata performs varied repertoire ranging from Renaissance to contemporary music, world, folk, and jazz. Recent works include Mendelssohn’s Laudate pueri dominum, Eleanor Daley’s Three Songs from the Parlour, and Duruflé’s Tota pulchra es.
The ensemble rehearses Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11:00 – 12:15 pm.
