The schedule of classes beginning with summer and fall 2012 will be available online only. The online interactive schedule and the class search functionality with RAIL will provide you with the most up-to-date course information possible.
Several significant business processes are changing:
A mandatory 60 percent of the bill, after financial aid is applied, is due on August 20. Students will be dropped from classes on August 22 at 2 p.m. if they do not pay their bill on time.
Registration will be unavailable during the week of August 21-24. RAIL will reopen at 5:00 p.m., August 24, after the final advisement/registration session.
If dropped from classes on August 22, students will not be eligible to re-add classes until after 5:00 p.m. on August 24 or during the first week of add/drop. There are no guarantees of classes still being available at that time.
The faculty has approved an instructor-approved late add via RAIL deadline through the 2nd week of classes (through September 7).
A second drop-for-nonpayment will happen on September 11 at 2 p.m. for those students who registered late, or re-registered (after August 23) and still have not paid a minimum of 60 percent of their bill, after financial aid is applied.
The faculty has approved an earlier deadline for withdrawal from a full-semester course (now October 26).
Financial aid recipients: Shepherd is required by the federal government to confirm that you begin attending each class for which you are enrolled. This review of attendance will occur within the first few weeks of the semester so be sure to attend all of your classes! A student who does not attend each class at least once during this review period will lose all or a portion of their financial aid and will have to pay the University the entire resulting account balance immediately.
