Shepherdstown, WV--The Shepherd University Office of Multicultural Student Affairs announces upcoming April events.
Dr. Luoluo Hong will present Why Violence Against Women is Everyone's Responsibility to End, Monday, April 4 at 7:30 p.m. in the Storer Ballroom, Student Center. Hong, former Shepherd dean of students and current dean of students at University of WisconsinMadison, is a seasoned administrator and educator with more than 11 years of professional experience in the college health and student development fields.
Terry Hong, Korean-American author and instructor, will present an interactive lecture on Korean culture in America Wednesday, April 13 at 4 p.m. in the Cumberland Room, Student Center. Hong writes frequently about theater, books, and film and her publication credits include American Theatre, AsianWeek, Bloomsbury Review, and Dallas Morning News.
These programs are sponsored in part by the Social Justice Initiative Grant from the West Virginia Higher Education Commission.
Clint and Sandy Hunt, along with their five children, will present a night of Irish and Celtic music and dance Wednesday, April 20 at 7 p.m. in the Storer Ballroom, Student Center. The Hunt family performs regularly for churches, picnics, hay rides, youth events, and weddings. The family blends the elegance of the violin and the guitar to produce a variety of melodies including festive fiddling and jigs to lively Irish step dancing.
