Shepherd to present Masterworks Chorale fall concert program Nov. 13 ISSUED: 28 October 2005 Shepherdstown, WV--The Shepherd University Masterworks Chorale will present its fall concert program, Resounding Brass, on Sunday, November 13 at 8 p.m. in the Frank Center. The Masterworks Chorale is a 100-member auditioned vocal ensemble comprised of community members and university students. The Chorale will be performing masterpieces of the Renaissance and 20th century accompanied by a large brass ensemble. The centerpiece of this concert is Daniel Pinkham's "Christmas Cantata." The brass ensemble will also perform two major Renaissance works, Giovanni Gabrieli's "Jubilate Deo," for double choir and Hans Leo Hassler's "Cantate Domino." The Masterworks Chorale is under the first-year direction of Erik Reid Jones, director of choral and vocal activities. In celebration of this concert, the Chorale will perform two of Jones's original works. The concert will end with a rousing spiritual by Moses Hogan. Tickets for the concert are $10 general admission, $5 for faculty and students 18 and under. Shepherd students and Friends of Music MAC cardholders are admitted free of charge.
