Shepherdstown, WV--The Shepherd University Foundation has created a scholarship to provide financial support to business administration students.
The scholarship was established by Greentree Realty Company of Shepherdstown. The first award will be given for the 2005-2006 school year to a Berkeley or Jefferson county high school graduate.
"The idea of starting this scholarship just came to me naturally since almost everyone around me is a Shepherd grad," said Jacqueline Lewis, owner of Greentree Realty in Shepherdstown. "My husband, two sons, and daughter-in-law all graduated from Shepherd, as well as five of the agents in my office. Working in the business partnership program at Jefferson High School also made me aware of the potential of our area young people, and I'm convinced that Shepherd is a good place to get a business education."
For more information about the scholarship or about creating a scholarship fund, contact the Foundation at 304/876-5391.
